WEST BRANDYWINE, PA — Freedom Village at Brandywine employees raised $1,223 for the Alzheimer’s Association during the community’s second annual Alzheimer’s Awareness Car Wash on June 29, turning an afternoon of volunteer service into meaningful support for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer’s disease.
For two hours, staff members washed vehicles on the community’s campus, inviting drivers to contribute donations of any amount instead of charging a set fee. Every dollar raised was donated to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The event built on the success of last year’s inaugural fundraiser, with employees volunteering their time to wash cars while raising awareness about a disease that affects millions of families. The atmosphere was energetic and community-focused as staff members worked together to support a cause close to many people’s hearts.
“Alzheimer’s touches so many individuals, caregivers and families, including people within our own community,” said Danielle Geyer, executive director of Freedom Village at Brandywine. “This car wash gave our team a hands-on way to raise awareness, show support and contribute to an organization working on behalf of those affected by the disease.”
This year’s event surpassed the $1,200 fundraising milestone, reflecting both the enthusiasm of employees and the generosity of those who stopped by to support the effort.
“Our employees brought tremendous energy and heart to this year’s event, and the generosity of everyone who donated helped us surpass $1,200,” Geyer added. “We are proud to continue this tradition and grateful to everyone who helped make the day meaningful and successful.”
Freedom Village at Brandywine recognized its employees for volunteering their time and energy throughout the fundraiser and thanked everyone who donated to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Organizers also expressed appreciation to community members who participated and helped make the event a success.
Following another successful year, Freedom Village at Brandywine plans to continue its Alzheimer’s Awareness Car Wash tradition while supporting future charitable initiatives that benefit residents, families, and the broader community.
