WEST CHESTER, PA — The Maternity Care Coalition (MCC) is hosting a community baby shower on Saturday, June 14, 2025, to celebrate and support new and expectant families in Chester County. The event is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Charles A. Melton Arts & Education Center, located at 501 E. Miner Street, West Chester, PA 19382.
Families expecting a baby or with infants up to six months old are encouraged to attend alongside their loved ones. The event will feature games, food, raffles, free baby care items, and valuable parenting information to support families in their pregnancy and parenting journeys.
The community baby shower underscores MCC’s mission of fostering maternal and child health. MCC offers a variety of services, including home visiting, parenting education, doula and lactation support, behavioral health services, and reproductive health resources.
“At Maternity Care Coalition, we work to increase support throughout pregnancy, labor and birth, and postpartum to address maternal and infant mortality,” said Samia Bristow, Vice President of Programs at MCC. “I envision that when anyone is seeking a culturally inclusive support system, doula and lactation services, and other resources to support having healthy birth outcomes in Chester County, families come to Maternity Care Coalition. Maternal health is a crucial part of overall women’s health, and our community baby shower aims to uplift, celebrate and empower pregnant people, mothers, and birthing families. This demonstrates our daily commitment to birthing people and families in Chester County and each county we serve.”
The event aligns with MCC’s broader vision of addressing social and racial inequities, ensuring parents in Pennsylvania and Delaware can “birth with dignity, parent with autonomy and raise babies who are healthy, growing, and thriving.”
This initiative demonstrates MCC’s ongoing commitment to improving maternal health outcomes while providing essential resources and building community connections.
