Woman Accused of Pocketing Lost Wallet, Using Victim’s Debit Card at Wawa

WOMISSING, PA — A Berks County woman is facing charges after allegedly picking up a lost wallet and using its contents at a local convenience store, according to the Spring Township Police Department.

The incident, which took place on January 13, 2025, began when officers were dispatched to the Wawa located at 2709 North Meridian Boulevard in Wyomissing. The caller reported losing her wallet, either inside the store or somewhere in the parking lot.

Surveillance footage reviewed by police reportedly showed a white female with red hair discovering the wallet outside and placing it in her vehicle. Moments later, the same woman entered the Wawa and made a purchase using a debit card that investigators believe belonged to the wallet’s owner.

Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspect as 49-year-old Christina Riedel. She was arrested on June 22, 2025, and charged with Theft of Property Lost and Receiving Stolen Property.

Riedel is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The case is currently proceeding through the judicial system.
