Wilmington Resident Arrested for $34,000 Bank Fraud in West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Police Department has reported the arrest of a Wilmington, Delaware resident in connection with a fraudulent transaction totaling $34,000 at the Truist Bank Branch located at 1 North High St.

Destant Jones, age 21, has been charged with Identity Theft, Theft by Deception, and related violations.

The criminal complaint alleges that on March 3, 2023, at approximately 1:10 pm, Officers were dispatched to the bank for a report of a fraudulent transaction of $34,000 dollars that had just occurred. Investigators were able to identify a suspect and an arrest warrant was obtained for Destant Jones.

Jones turned himself in to the West Chester Borough Police Department on May 17, 2023. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 13, 2023, at District Court 15-1-04.
