Wilmington Police Arrest Suspect in Downtown Robbery

WILMINGTON, DEWilmington Police announced the arrest of a city man in connection with a downtown robbery that occurred last week.

According to authorities, the incident took place on September 30, 2025, at approximately 12:39 p.m. Officers from the Special Operations Division responded to the 800 block of North Market Street following a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, police took 40-year-old Christopher Workenaour into custody without incident.

Following the investigation, Workenaour was charged with first-degree robbery. He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and subsequently committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $40,000 cash-only bail.

All charges are allegations, and a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
