Wilmington Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Vehicle Stop

WILMINGTON, DE — A 31-year-old man is facing serious drug charges after officers from the Safe Streets Task Force conducted a vehicle stop in Wilmington.

The incident unfolded on March 7, 2025, at approximately 7:21 p.m., when police stopped a vehicle in the 400 block of West 4th Street. Authorities identified the driver as Corey Brittingham and, following a brief investigation, arrested him without incident. During the stop, officers reportedly seized 7.5 grams of heroin and 4.87 grams of crack cocaine.

Brittingham has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, and traffic violations.

After arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Brittingham was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $70,000 cash-only bail.

Officials emphasize that charges are only allegations, and Brittingham is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
