WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man has been arrested in connection with two alleged armed robberies that occurred in July, following an investigation by the Wilmington Police Department.
According to authorities, officers from the Uniformed Services Division responded to reports of armed robberies on the 300 block of East 25th Street on July 15 at approximately 4:46 p.m. and again on July 19 at approximately 5:25 p.m. Both incidents were later assigned to Detective Brendan Wham of the Criminal Investigations Division for further investigation.
Detective Wham identified 20-year-old Semaj Lloyd as a suspect and obtained warrants for his arrest. On October 4, members of the Gun Intelligence Unit located Lloyd near East 10th and North Pine Streets, where he was taken into custody without incident.
Lloyd has been charged with two counts each of first-degree robbery, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, along with one count each of wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony and second-degree conspiracy.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $221,000 cash-only bail.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
