PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are actively pursuing leads in a homicide investigation after a fatal arson occurred on November 12, 2024, in the 1400 block of N. 61st Street.
According to the Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit, the incident happened at approximately 4 a.m. when the front porch of a residence was deliberately set on fire. The blaze tragically claimed the life of a 67-year-old bed-ridden individual inside the home.
Surveillance video excerpts of a potential suspect have been released as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and call 911 immediately if the suspect is spotted.
The City of Philadelphia is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case. Tips can be submitted confidentially by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477) or contacting the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
