Who Set the Fire? Search for Suspect in Deadly Philadelphia Arson Intensifies

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Authorities are actively pursuing leads in a homicide investigation after a fatal arson occurred on November 12, 2024, in the 1400 block of N. 61st Street.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department Homicide Unit, the incident happened at approximately 4 a.m. when the front porch of a residence was deliberately set on fire. The blaze tragically claimed the life of a 67-year-old bed-ridden individual inside the home.

Surveillance video excerpts of a potential suspect have been released as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant and call 911 immediately if the suspect is spotted.
