West Chester Police Arrest Two for Alleged Hardware Store Theft

WEST CHESTER, PA — West Chester Police Department announced the arrest of two suspects on December 12, 2023, in connection with an alleged theft at a local Ace Hardware Store.

The incident took place on October 26, 2023, around 12:45 p.m. at the store located at 720 W. Strasburg Rd. Based on the police investigation, it was found that two individuals, identified as Rasheeda Hunt, 34, from New Castle, DE, and Mateen Brown, 30, from Wilmington, DE, allegedly entered the store and removed several power tools from the shelves without any attempt to pay for them.

Brown is currently being held in the State of Delaware, awaiting an extradition hearing for his arrest warrant related to this case. Similarly, Hunt is at the Montgomery County Prison, also awaiting her extradition hearing tied to this case. The preliminary hearing for both suspects is still pending at District Court 15-1-01.

Both Hunt and Brown face charges of receiving stolen property and retail theft. However, it’s important to note that these are allegations. All suspects, arrestees, or defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
