Troopers Tackle DUI Crashes, Domestic Incidents, and Thefts Across Chester County

Pennsylvania State Police

EMBREEVILLE, PAPennsylvania State Police based in Embreeville responded to a sweeping series of alleged crimes, crashes, and emergencies across Chester County in late December and early January, ranging from impaired driving arrests and domestic incidents to thefts, disturbances, and serious motor vehicle collisions, according to a 20-page press release issued by the agency.

Among the most serious incidents, troopers conducted an alleged felony traffic stop in West Bradford Township that resulted in the arrest of Patrisha Rokins, 24, of Coatesville. Police said Rokins was taken into custody after officers stopped a 2020 white Nissan Sentra in connection with a felony warrant issued by the Philadelphia Police Department. Investigators allege Rokins showed signs of drug impairment and was transferred to Philadelphia police after processing.

In another West Bradford case, troopers reported arresting a 45-year-old woman from Newark, Delaware, after she was found on December 26 in a disabled 2021 white Chevrolet. Police allege she had run off the road and was driving under the influence of alcohol. Charges were being filed through Magisterial District Court 15-1-01.

A separate impaired-driving investigation involved a 30-year-old man from Coatesville after a single-vehicle crash in West Bradford Township. Troopers allege the driver of a 2008 gray Mazda 6 was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol when the crash occurred.

Troopers also handled multiple alleged domestic-related cases. In South Coventry Township, a 37-year-old woman from Phoenixville was arrested after investigators said she violated an active Protection From Abuse order by contacting a 36-year-old man from Pottstown through email instead of the court-approved application.

In another domestic-related call, troopers responded to a residence involving a 16-year-old and a 34-year-old male, both from Parkesburg, following a reported active domestic disturbance. Charges were to be filed through District Court 15-3-07.

Police also investigated harassment in Warwick Township involving a 55-year-old woman from Elverson, accused in a case involving a 59-year-old victim from the same community.

Several theft-related cases were also documented. In Charlestown Township, a 60-year-old Malvern man reported his driver’s license and two credit cards — including an Amazon Prime Visa and a Costco Anywhere Visa — were allegedly stolen. Troopers asked anyone with information to contact PSP Embreeville at 610-486-6280.

In West Vincent Township, state police responded to a critical medical emergency involving a 19-year-old male who was reported to have attempted suicide by cutting his arms. The man was treated by EMS and transported to Chester County Hospital for treatment and a mental health evaluation.

One of the most dangerous incidents detailed in the release occurred on December 26 at 5:56 p.m. on Route 202 in East Whiteland Township, where a three-vehicle crash occurred in icy and snowy conditions. Police said traffic slowed when one vehicle attempted to turn left, leading to a chain-reaction collision involving a Mini Cooper, Honda CR-V, and Volkswagen Jetta. Two drivers sustained suspected minor injuries, while a third was not injured.

Additional incidents included disturbances in Honey Brook Borough and Charlestown Township, criminal mischief involving a vehicle struck by an unknown object in South Coventry Township, and multiple private-property crashes in Warwick and West Bradford townships.

State police emphasized that all charges and criminal allegations outlined in the release are preliminary and subject to change as investigations continue. All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
