Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest: Unlicensed Concealed Firearm, Drugs Found

WEST CHESTER, PA — A 30-year-old resident of Darby, Delaware County, Pennsylvania has been arrested on drug and gun charges, say the West Chester Police Department.

Laquavea Boatwright has been charged with the Possession of a Firearm Not To Be Carried Without a License,- Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and releated offences.

The criminal complaint alleges that on June 10, 2023, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of N. High Street. Through investigation, the operator, identified as 30-year-old Laquavea Boatwright Darby, PA, was found to be in possession of a concealed firearm without a valid permit, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia. Boatwright was released at the scene and an arrest warrant was later issued in his name.

Boatwright failed to turn himself in for his charges but was taken into custody on August 1, 2023. Boatwright was transported to Chester County Prison where he was processed and held for his charges. A preliminary hearing is pending at Chester County Magisterial District Court 15-1-04.
