BEAR, DE — Delaware State Police have arrested four teenage boys in connection with a burglary at a Dunkin’ location in Bear early Thursday morning.
On July 10, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the Dunkin’ on Pulaski Highway after receiving a report of a break-in. According to investigators, two male suspects allegedly entered the establishment through a window, while two others acted as lookouts. Once inside, the suspects took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash registers before fleeing the scene.
The suspects were initially described as four Black male teenagers wearing dark, athletic-style clothing.
Roughly an hour later, at 6:20 a.m., officers from the New Castle County Police Department responded to reports of suspicious individuals in the area of Scotland Drive and Kildoon Drive. Officers located a 14-year-old male and transported him to his home in Newark. While there, officers encountered three additional teens who matched the earlier suspect descriptions.
Delaware State Police arrived at the residence and, using surveillance footage, confirmed that the teenagers were the individuals involved in the burglary. Further investigation at the scene reportedly uncovered physical evidence linking them to the incident.
All four suspects were taken to Troop 2 for processing, where they were each charged with Burglary Third Degree (felony), Conspiracy Second Degree (felony), and Theft Under $1,500. Following arraignment in Family Court, the teens were released to the custody of their parents on unsecured bonds of $1,200 each.
The arrested individuals include a 14-year-old male from Newark, a 14-year-old male from Wilmington, a 13-year-old male from Wilmington, and another 14-year-old male from Wilmington.
The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities remind the public that a suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
