WILMINGTON, DE — A 19-year-old Wilmington man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured a teenager in March.
On March 22, at approximately 4:23 p.m., Wilmington Police responded to a reported shooting in the 1300 block of Banning Street. Upon arrival, officers found a 17-year-old male who had been shot. The victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition.
The investigation, led by Detective Kevin Nolan of the Criminal Investigations Division, identified Semaj Clark, 19, as a suspect. Warrants were secured for his arrest, and on May 6, authorities located Clark in the 100 block of Cedar Street, taking him into custody without incident.
Clark faces charges including first-degree assault and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. Following arraignment in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas, Clark was held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $60,000 cash-only bail.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
