AVONDALE, PA — A teenage driver was cited following a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on Limestone Road in Upper Oxford Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
State police said the crash occurred on March 12 at approximately 2:18 p.m. on Limestone Road just north of its intersection with Street Road.
According to investigators, an 18-year-old driver operating a 2004 Acura TL allegedly attempted to pass another vehicle in an unsafe manner. Police reported the Acura sideswiped a 2019 Honda Odyssey before traveling across the northbound lane and striking a grass embankment.
Troopers said both vehicles sustained disabling damage and were towed from the scene.
Police reported that the Acura driver, identified as Brody E. Turk of Oxford, was not injured. The driver of the Honda, a 43-year-old woman from West Grove, reported a possible injury to her left ear but was not transported from the scene, according to authorities.
Investigators said the Acura driver was cited for passing when prohibited.
In a separate incident the same day, troopers responded at approximately 8:04 p.m. to Camp Saginaw in New London Township after a suspicious vehicle was reported on the property. According to state police, the operator of a white 2014 Jeep was issued a non-traffic citation for trespassing and escorted from the property.
Authorities also reported an investigation involving an alleged assault of a minor in East Nottingham Township. According to state police, a 14-year-old girl from Oxford allegedly sustained injuries after being struck with a belt by a parent. A 36-year-old Oxford man was identified as the arrestee, and police said the investigation began after a report was made through ChildLine and the Chester County Department of Children, Youth and Families.
Troopers said the investigation into that incident is ongoing.
Police also reported two additional crashes in Chester County earlier in the week.
According to investigators, a vehicle traveling northbound on Gap Newport Pike in London Grove Township struck a deer at approximately 8:34 p.m. on March 9 near the Glen Willow Road area. Police said the vehicle sustained minor damage and the driver reported no injuries.
In West Bradford Township, police reported a hit-and-run crash at approximately 9:00 p.m. on March 9 near the intersection of Beacon Hill Road and Glenside Road. According to investigators, a 2019 Volkswagen Jetta struck a utility pole while turning onto Beacon Hill Road before the driver fled the scene prior to troopers arriving. The vehicle was later towed from the scene.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
