Suspect Arrested for Theft at Giant in West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA — The West Chester Police Department announced the arrest of 20-year-old Chidingozi Chikezie of York, PA on April 7, 2023, following a theft incident at the Giant located at 698 Downingtown Pike.

According to the criminal complaint, at approximately 2:17 PM, officers responded to the scene after receiving information that the suspect was now inside another business. When officers attempted to place her under arrest, she physically resisted them. Even after the officers were able to successfully place her in custody, she continued to act disorderly and kicked over a large display of merchandise toward another officer.

Chikezie is facing charges including one count of retail theft, one count of resisting arrest, two counts of violations concerning licenses, and one count of disorderly conduct. She is currently being held at the Chester County Prison. A preliminary hearing is pending at District Court at 15-1-01
