State Police and Parkesburg Borough Police Launch Joint Investigation into Stolen Vehicle Case

PARKESBURG, PA — Pennsylvania State Police, in collaboration with the Parkesburg Borough Police Department, are currently investigating a case involving a stolen vehicle in Chester County. The incident took place on August 27, 2023, when a Silver Hyundai Elantra was reported stolen from the 300 block of West 1st Ave, Parkesburg Borough.

The stolen vehicle was later spotted by Pennsylvania State Police along Lincoln Highway but failed to stop when officers attempted a traffic halt. This led to a pursuit, which eventually ended in the Millview Community of Coatesville city. The suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled into a nearby wooded area.

The suspect is described as a Black/Non-Hispanic male, approximately 5’10” – 6′ tall, with a thin build. He is possibly a juvenile and was last seen wearing black sweatpants and a black “THRASHERS” hooded sweatshirt.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about this case to come forward. People can contact the Pennsylvania State Police at 610-486-6280 or provide information anonymously to the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-4PA-TIPS (8477). Online tips can also be submitted through the Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers website.

The Parkesburg Borough Police Department has also sought public assistance by asking residents to provide home surveillance footage that might aid in the ongoing investigation.
