HARRISBURG, PA — A Montgomery County man has been charged with dozens of felony counts after investigators with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General allege they uncovered extensive files depicting child sexual abuse.

Attorney General Dave Sunday announced that Alex Asunción, 42, of Hatfield Township, was charged with 57 felony counts related to the alleged dissemination of child sexual abuse material following an investigation by the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.

According to authorities, agents served a search warrant at Asunción’s Hatfield Township residence, where electronic devices were seized that allegedly contained the illicit material. Investigators said the charges stem from files they allege were being shared and involved very young children.

“In this case, our agents discovered the defendant was sharing files depicting very young children in horrific acts,” Sunday said. “Our commitment to stopping offenders who abuse and exploit children will not waver.”

Asunción was arraigned, and bail was set at $50,000. Prosecutors said that if bail is posted, court-ordered conditions require that he have no contact with minors.

The case will be prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Michelle Laucella on behalf of the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.
