HARRISBURG, PA — Authorities announced the arrests of two individuals accused of drug trafficking in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, during an operation that uncovered not only narcotics but also two African wildcats allegedly held unlawfully in the suspects’ residence. The arrests and seizures were part of a collaborative effort among the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police, and Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office.

Jennifer Dixon, 27, and Nicholas Rumsey, 33, are facing charges including possession with intent to distribute and endangering the welfare of a child, as well as other related allegations. The investigation into their alleged activities led members of the Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics and the Pennsylvania State Police’s Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) to execute a search warrant at a home in Lawrence Township on June 5.

Thousands of Fentanyl Doses Seized

During the search, authorities reportedly confiscated approximately three pounds of methamphetamine, valued at an estimated $19,200, along with 159 grams of fentanyl, worth approximately $63,000, and nine grams of heroin, valued at $3,600. Investigators also seized $7,390 in cash and additional materials allegedly used in drug packaging.

Alongside the drug-related discoveries, two African wildcats were reportedly found in the basement of the residence. Such animals require permits for private ownership, and authorities believe they were being kept unlawfully. The Pennsylvania State Game Commission responded to the scene and removed the animals from the home, initiating a separate investigation into their possession.

Attorney General Dave Sunday commended the efforts of the various agencies involved in the operation. “The agents’ seizure of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and heroin ensures those drugs will not harm surrounding communities. The recovery and rescue of these wildcats provides the animals with opportunities to live safer, healthier lives,” Sunday said in a statement. He also acknowledged the risks and unexpected elements law enforcement officers face during such operations, thanking them for their diligence.

Clearfield County District Attorney Ryan Sayers emphasized the significance of the arrests and the impact on the community. He noted that the estimated 7,950 doses of fentanyl removed from circulation represented a substantial step toward enhancing public safety. He also highlighted the dual importance of protecting exotic animals and removing potential dangers from the neighborhood.

Agencies contributing to the investigation included the Pennsylvania State Police Troop C Vice Unit, Clearfield Regional Police Department, Blair County Drug Task Force, and the Pennsylvania State Game Commission. The case is set to be prosecuted by the Clearfield County District Attorney’s Office.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out additional charges or arrests as they continue their work. All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
