Rising Sun Resident Apprehended in Oxford for Felony Warrant and Assault

OXFORD, PA — The Oxford Police Department announced the arrest of a 36-year-old Rising Sun, MD resident on an active felony warrant.

In addition to the warrant, Mark Compton has been charged with assault.

Authorities say that on July 7, 2023, the Rehoboth Police Department (Delaware) alerted the Oxford Police Department they have a felony warrant for 36-year-old, Mark Compton of Rising Sun after he was alleged to have committed an aggravated assault in their state. Rehoboth Police had information that Compton would be attending a public event in Oxford, PA on Friday evening. At 7:30 PM, Oxford Police Department bike units spotted Compton at the First Friday event. Compton was taken into custody without incident by bike officers in the area of Gray’s Alley and Octoraro Alley.

Officer Frie completed a fugitive from justice warrant and Compton has be transported to Chester County Prison for arraignment and extradition.
