Public Urged to Help Identify Suspect in Philadelphia Shooting

PHILADELPHIA, PAPhiladelphia Police are seeking information from the public following a fatal shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in the 300 block of North Christopher Columbus Boulevard.

At approximately 1:47 a.m. on June 29, 2025, officers responded to a reported shooting and discovered a marked Philadelphia School District Public Safety vehicle. Inside the vehicle, a uniformed Public Safety Officer was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso and face. Tragically, the officer succumbed to these injuries.

Detectives have identified a suspect described as a Hispanic male with a bowl-style haircut. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a red or orange shirt and was observed via surveillance footage operating a white Kia Sportage, model year between 2017 and 2019.

Authorities have cautioned the public not to approach the suspect if seen but to immediately contact 911. Citizens with relevant information can also submit tips through the Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit by calling 215-686-3334 or 215-686-3335. Tips can be shared anonymously by dialing 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Police emphasize that all suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Efforts to locate the suspect and gather additional evidence are ongoing. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
