Police Hunt Suspect in String of Philly Retail Thefts

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Philadelphia Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a man wanted in connection with multiple felony retail thefts that have occurred across Philadelphia and surrounding counties.

According to investigators, Jarrell Haywood Porter is a suspect in at least seven separate retail theft cases within the city of Philadelphia, with additional incidents under investigation in neighboring jurisdictions. Police have identified Porter’s vehicle as a blue Mitsubishi Mirage bearing Pennsylvania registration LCV5259 (VIN #ML32F3FJ9KHF12603). The vehicle reportedly has a missing hubcap or donut-style spare tire on the front passenger side.

Authorities are urging members of the public not to approach Porter if seen. Instead, anyone who spots him or his vehicle is asked to call 911 immediately or contact the Philadelphia Police Department’s Northwest Detective Division at 215-686-3353 or 215-686-3354.

All allegations are under investigation, and any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
