PHILADELPHIA, PA — A Philadelphia man pleaded guilty Friday to multiple robbery and firearm charges tied to a series of armored truck heists in Philadelphia and Montgomery County, federal prosecutors said.
Mujahid Davis, 24, entered the plea before U.S. District Judge Gail A. Weilheimer on two counts of Hobbs Act robbery, two counts of attempted Hobbs Act robbery, and one count of carrying, using, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence, U.S. Attorney David Metcalf said.
Davis was charged by superseding indictment in January along with co-defendant Dante Shackleford, 26, also of Philadelphia.
According to court filings, Davis admitted to participating in four incidents, including the July 2, 2025, robbery of a Brinks truck in Philadelphia and a July 15, 2025, attempted robbery in the city.
He also admitted involvement in the August 12, 2025, robbery of a Brinks truck in Elkins Park and the October 3, 2025, attempted robbery of another Brinks truck in Philadelphia, prosecutors said.
Davis is scheduled to be sentenced August 4 and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison, a mandatory minimum of seven years’ imprisonment, up to five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1,500,000.
The case was investigated by the FBI Philadelphia Violent Crimes Task Force and the Philadelphia Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Robert Eckert and Kwambina Coker are prosecuting the case.
