PARKESBURG, PA — The Parkesburg Borough Police Department has reported the arrest of 18-year-old Jonathan William Barrera on charges related to carrying a firearm without a license, among other allegations. The arrest occurred during a traffic stop on January 26, 2024, around 9:24 PM, on the unit block of East First Avenue in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania.
According to law enforcement officials, Barrera was allegedly found with a loaded privately manufactured firearm (PMF) concealed in his waistband during the traffic stop. The exact circumstances and cause for the initial traffic stop have not been specified by the police department.
Following the arrest, Barrera was transported to Central Booking, where he was later arraigned. His bail has been set at $20,000 cash, and he has since been placed in Chester County Prison. A preliminary hearing is pending and will be scheduled at the Parkesburg District Court.
As a reminder, these charges are allegations, and Barrera is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest or criminal complaint does not constitute a declaration of guilt. Further details on this case will be reported as they become available.
