Oxford Man Fails to Appear on Weapons Charges, Bench Warrant Issued

OXFORD, PA — Omar Baena, 38, of Oxford, PA failed to appear at a preliminary hearing on September 27, 2022, on weapons and related charges. The Oxford Borough Police Department announced that a bench warrant is being issued by the Chester County Court of Common Pleas.

Authorities stated that on September 16, 2022, it is alleged that Baena pulled up to the victims after a road rage incident and displayed a black handgun. Officers located Baena’s vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. Baena failed to stop and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. Baena exited his vehicle and attempted to flee but was apprehended by Officers after a brief foot pursuit. A search conducted during the arrest yielded a loaded black handgun concealed in his waistband.

Baena has been charged with the following:

  • Firearms Not to be Carried Without a License
  • Resisting Arrest or Other Law Enforcement
  • Fleeing or Attempting to Elude Police
  • Driving Without License
  • Carrying Loaded a Weapon
