NEWARK, DE — A Newark resident has been arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery at a local business earlier this year.

The Delaware State Police identified 26-year-old Unique Priestley as the suspect in a January 25 incident at Four Seasons Tobacco Outlet on Plaza Drive. Around 10:35 a.m., a male suspect reportedly entered the store, jumped the counter, and threatened an employee with a knife while grabbing tobacco products. Before fleeing, the suspect allegedly struck the employee, though no injuries were reported.

After an investigation by Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Detectives, Priestley was identified as the suspect and a warrant was issued for his arrest. On March 4, detectives located Priestley and took him into custody without incident.

Priestley was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with one count of first-degree robbery, a felony. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 2 and is being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $35,000 cash bond.

Authorities remind the public that all charges are considered allegations, and those accused are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
