Man Arrested for Alleged Assault and Kidnapping in West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA — Police have arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with an alleged assault and kidnapping that occurred in West Chester Borough last month. Ahmad W. Al-Azzam was taken into custody on June 10, 2024, following an investigation by the West Chester Police Department.

The incident took place on May 20, 2024, when the victim was reportedly assaulted inside his home. The victim suffered life-threatening injuries and is receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Detectives from the West Chester Police Department worked with the Phoenixville Police Department, the Mount Laurel Police Department, and the Chester County District Attorney’s Office to identify a suspect. Multiple search warrants were executed during the investigation, leading to the collection of evidence that resulted in Al-Azzam’s arrest.

Al-Azzam faces several charges, including kidnapping, aggravated assault, robbery inflicting serious bodily injury, and burglary of an occupied residence, among other related offenses.
