PARKESBURG, PA — The Parkesburg Borough Police Department has announced the arrest of 27-year-old Christopher J. Baxter of Levittown, Pennsylvania, on allegations of fraud, firearms violations, drug possession, receiving stolen property, and related offenses.

The incident leading to Baxter’s arrest unfolded on February 19, 2024, in the 200 block of West First Avenue in Parkesburg. Responding to a 9-1-1 hang-up call from a local business, police made contact with Baxter, who was reportedly attempting to present counterfeit documents for payment at the establishment.

Baxter was taken into custody on an unrelated warrant and subsequently transported to Chester County Prison. The investigation extended beyond the initial arrest when authorities executed a search warrant on Baxter’s vehicle. They reportedly discovered a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number, drugs and drug paraphernalia, and further evidence potentially related to fraudulent activity.

Further investigation revealed that the recovered handgun had been reported stolen during a previous burglary in Ephrata Borough, adding to the charges Baxter faces.

As of February 29, 2024, Baxter is incarcerated at Bucks County Prison. A preliminary hearing regarding these charges will be scheduled at the Parkesburg District Court.

While this case continues to unfold, it is important to remember that Baxter is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
