GREENVILLE, DEDelaware State Police have arrested a Newark man following an investigation into a series of alleged thefts from a resident at a senior living community in Greenville, authorities announced.

According to police, troopers responded on Tuesday, December 17, 2025, to Stonegates Senior Living Community, located at 4031 Kennett Pike, after a resident reported that prescription medication and other personal items had gone missing on multiple occasions. Investigators said the resident, concerned by the repeated losses, installed a camera system inside the home that included both visible and concealed cameras.

Police said the system recorded video on December 15, 2025, allegedly showing John Oboyle, 50, of Newark, Delaware, removing the resident’s prescription medication and a portion of the newly installed camera equipment. Authorities identified Oboyle as a maintenance worker employed at the facility. While Oboyle had general access to the property as part of his employment, police said he did not have a legitimate reason to enter the resident’s home at the time of the alleged theft.
