UPPER CHICHESTER, PA — Upper Chichester Township police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate an alleged counterfeit currency incident involving a local restaurant along a busy commercial corridor.
According to the Upper Chichester Township Police Department, officers are attempting to identify a male suspect believed to be connected to the alleged use of counterfeit U.S. currency at Chicko’s Chicken, located at 2609 Chichester Avenue. The incident reportedly occurred on January 29.
Police said the individual allegedly passed fake currency during a transaction at the business. Detectives have classified the case as a criminal fraud investigation and released images of the suspect in an effort to determine his identity.
The department is urging anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information related to the incident to contact Detective Gaspari at 610-485-8400, extension 453. Tips may also be submitted online. Police noted that reference number UC-26-001343 should be used when providing information.
Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and that public assistance could play a critical role in resolving the case.
All details released by police are allegations. Any suspect identified or charged in connection with this investigation is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
