PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a violent daytime robbery that left an elderly woman injured in Center City.
According to investigators, the incident occurred on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at approximately 11:25 a.m. The 81-year-old victim was walking along the 1900 block of Pine Street when she was approached from behind by an unknown female suspect riding a bicycle. The suspect allegedly pushed the woman to the ground and forcibly took her bag.
Police say the suspect fled the scene but abandoned the bag after removing $100 in cash. The victim sustained a minor contusion to her right forehead as a result of the fall.
Authorities describe the suspect as a Black female, who was last seen leaving the area on a bicycle. A photo of the suspect has been released in hopes that members of the public may recognize her and provide valuable information.
The Philadelphia Police Department’s Central Detective Division is actively investigating the case. Anyone with information is urged not to approach the suspect but to immediately contact 911. Tips can also be submitted confidentially by calling 215-686-TIPS (8477).
