AVONDALE, PA — Pennsylvania State Police reported multiple incidents across Chester County, including a domestic violence arrest, several vehicle crashes, and a theft investigation, according to recent activity reports.
On March 14 at approximately 10:08 p.m., troopers responded to a domestic incident in West Nottingham Township. According to state police, a 43-year-old man allegedly threw objects around a residence and at his adult daughter. Police said the suspect was taken into custody and charged in connection with the incident.
On March 13 at approximately 11:41 p.m., troopers responded to Lower Oxford Township for a reported domestic dispute. Police reported the incident involved a male and female, and the male was issued a non-traffic citation for harassment.
Earlier on March 13 at approximately 2:52 a.m., troopers were dispatched to the 800 block of Bourbon Lane in Penn Township for a report of a vehicle driving erratically. According to investigators, the vehicle allegedly drove into a front yard, causing damage estimated at $100. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
On March 11 at approximately 12:30 p.m., troopers responded to Hilltop Road in Franklin Township for a reported theft by extortion. Police stated that approximately $49,400 was reported stolen from a 74-year-old victim. The investigation is ongoing, according to authorities.
State police also reported several motor vehicle crashes during the reporting period.
On March 13 at approximately 4:55 p.m., a crash occurred on Limestone Road at the intersection with the U.S. Route 1 southbound ramp in Lower Oxford Township. According to investigators, a vehicle allegedly failed to stop at a posted sign and entered the intersection, striking another vehicle. Police reported no injuries, and both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
On March 11 at approximately 10:51 a.m., a crash occurred on Route 472 east of Roney’s Corner Road in Lower Oxford Township. Police said one vehicle allegedly crossed into the opposing lane and struck another vehicle. According to authorities, one driver sustained suspected minor injuries and was transported to a hospital, while the other driver was not injured.
On March 9 at approximately 3:39 p.m., a crash occurred on the Coatesville Downingtown Bypass east of Lincoln Highway in East Caln Township. Police reported that one driver allegedly followed too closely and struck another vehicle. Authorities said one driver was transported to a hospital with suspected minor injuries, and a traffic citation was filed.
On March 4 at approximately 8:57 p.m., a crash occurred on Reedsville Road at Conner Road in Lower Oxford Township. According to police, one driver fled the scene on foot and was later taken into custody. Police reported no injuries and said the driver was charged with DUI.
On February 1 at approximately 3:24 a.m., troopers responded to U.S. Route 1 northbound near State Route 796 in Penn Township for a single-vehicle crash. According to investigators, the driver was allegedly impaired and was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Investigations into several of the incidents remain ongoing, according to state police.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
