LANDENBERG, PA — The Southern Chester County Regional Police Department has reported the arrest of two individuals from Dover, Delaware, following an alleged retail theft at Tractor Supply located at 850 Newark Road.

The incident took place on February 5, 2024, around 7:23 P.M. when police were dispatched to the location following a report of a theft in progress. Responding officers spotted a male suspect, later identified as 41-year-old David Ranken, attempting to enter a Dodge Ram pickup truck parked at a nearby Sunoco store.

As police approached, Ranken allegedly fled on foot across Gap Newport Pike and into the New Garden Highway Maintenance Garage parking lot. He then reportedly tried to run through a tree line and back onto Gap Newport Pike, where he was apprehended by officers. Various power tools valued at $581.93 were recovered from the maintenance lot.

Officers made contact with the female driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as 30-year-old Amanda Lynn Bauers, also from Dover, Delaware. Bauers was taken into custody for allegedly conspiring to commit and assisting with the theft by operating what police believe to have been a getaway vehicle.

Both Ranken and Bauers were transported to PSP Avondale for processing and released pending summons.

Ranken faces charges of retail theft, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest. Meanwhile, Bauers is charged with criminal conspiracy, receiving stolen property, retail theft, and corruption of minors.

As always, it’s important to remember that these are allegations. Both Ranken and Bauers, like all individuals facing potential criminal charges, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
