Death Probe, Jewelry Theft, and Drug Arrests Shake Chester County in PSP Blitz

EMBREEVILLE, PA — A wave of serious incidents ranging from a death investigation tied to a reported domestic assault to multiple thefts, harassment complaints, drug arrests, and violent crashes unfolded across Chester County between November and late December 2025, according to a recent release from Pennsylvania State Police at the Embreeville barracks.

The most serious case was reported on December 13, 2025, when troopers were dispatched to the 10-block of Normandy Circle in East Nantmeal Township for a death investigation. The victim was identified as a 63-year-old woman from Glenmoore. While investigating the death, troopers learned that a domestic-related assault had allegedly occurred earlier in the day. State police said the case remains under active investigation as they work to determine whether the alleged assault was connected to the woman’s death.

Two separate harassment investigations were also opened.

On December 12, 2025, Pennsylvania State Police responded to Chestnut Hill Road in South Coventry Township after a 56-year-old man from Summit Hill reported an alleged harassment incident.

Earlier, on December 4, 2025, troopers were called to Cupola Road in Honey Brook Township after a 15-year-old girl reported an alleged harassment. Both cases remain under investigation.

A residential theft was reported on December 10, 2025, in West Bradford Township, when troopers were dispatched to Montvale Circle for a report that jewelry had allegedly been stolen from a home. The victim, a 61-year-old woman from West Chester, told police that jewelry was missing from her residence. That theft remains under investigation.

On December 24, 2025, PSP Embreeville responded to Upper Gap Road in South Coatesville Borough after a 42-year-old man reported alleged criminal mischief involving a 2016 orange Toyota Tacoma and a 2020 red Kia Forte. A 39-year-old woman from Coatesville was listed as an arrestee in the case, though police said the investigation remains ongoing.

A drug-related traffic arrest was reported on December 5, 2025, when troopers stopped a 1998 Plymouth on Broad Run Road in West Bradford Township for a Title 75 traffic violation. Police allege the 20-year-old woman from Downingtown operating the vehicle was found to be in possession of an electronic THC vape pen.

Alongside the criminal investigations, troopers documented a series of violent crashes across the region.

On December 5, 2025, at 1:47 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on Broad Run Road in West Bradford Township involving a 2012 Honda Civic driven by Carlos Ortiz-Tenecela, 43, of West Orange, New Jersey, and a 2018 Ford Transit driven by Shericka Hammond, 48, of Reading. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, and no injuries were reported.

Later that day at 5:26 p.m., a crash on Lewis Mill Road near Killian Road in West Nantmeal Township occurred when a 2002 Ford Thunderbird driven by Valerie Shultz, 56, of Honey Brook left the roadway and struck a deer before crashing. The vehicle was disabled and towed. No injuries were reported.

On December 7, 2025, at 8:38 p.m., a crash on Poorhouse Road in West Bradford Township involved Raul Garcia-Zayas, 24, of King of Prussia, and Angela Moore, 34, of Downingtown. Police allege Garcia-Zayas was driving too fast for conditions and struck Moore’s vehicle, causing minor injuries and heavy damage.

On December 10, 2025, at 10:32 a.m., a collision occurred on Ridge Road at Stauffer Road in South Coventry Township involving Rose Berdzio, 79, of Pottstown, and Jacqueline Meyer, 83, also of Pottstown. Police allege Meyer struck Berdzio’s vehicle while turning, causing damage to both vehicles.

On December 11, 2025, at 5:53 p.m., a three-vehicle crash occurred at Wawaset and Oak Tree Roads in Newlin Township. A Chevrolet Silverado driven by A. Barry Jr., 73, of Kennett Square allegedly struck two other vehicles after failing to stop, causing disabling damage and leaving one driver with suspected minor injuries.

On December 13, 2025, at 3:42 p.m., a Toyota Camry driven by E. Macaulay, 30, of Philadelphia crashed into a concrete barrier on U.S. Route 202 in East Whiteland Township after allegedly swerving to avoid traffic. The vehicle was disabled but no injuries were reported.

On December 14, 2025, at 4:18 a.m., a Volkswagen Jetta crashed into a concrete barrier on the U.S. 30 bypass in Caln Township after sliding on snow-covered pavement. The vehicle became stuck in brush and snow and was later towed.

State police emphasized that all criminal matters referenced in the release remain under investigation. Any person identified as a suspect, arrestee, or defendant in these cases is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
