Coatesville Police Arrest Man With Loaded Gun

COATESVILLE, PA — The Coatesville Police Department announced the arrest of 27-year-old Frederick Mason on gun and drug charges.

Authorities stated that on January 30, 2023, at approximately 3:10 AM, a police officer conducted a traffic stop of an unregistered vehicle in the 300 block of E. Chestnut Street. Contact was made with the driver and two occupants. During a consent search of the vehicle, a loaded polymer handgun and a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia were allegedly discovered. The items were reportedly found to belong to the passenger,  Frederick Mason. Mason was taken into custody and charged with Firearms Not To Be Carried Without a License, and the possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Mason was unable to post bail and has been remanded to the Chester County Prison.
