WEST CHESTER, PA — A routine afternoon in West Chester Borough took a dramatic turn on September 7, 2024, when the local police responded to an incident involving a refusal to vacate a business premises in the bustling 50 block of South High Street. At approximately 1:45 PM, employees of the establishment alerted a nearby officer to the situation, seeking assistance in managing a recalcitrant individual.

The person in question was identified as Dylan Novak, a 21-year-old resident of Avondale, PA. Upon engaging with Novak, law enforcement officers attempted to place him under arrest. However, the situation escalated as Novak resisted attempts to be taken into custody. During the altercation, Novak is alleged to have physically struggled with officers, an action that led to the breaking of a property window and resulted in injuries to two police officers.
