HARRISBURG, PA — A Cameron County woman has pleaded guilty to felony aggravated assault for shooting Cameron County District Attorney Paul J. Malizia at his office last year.

Porice D. Mincy, 32, admitted guilt on Monday in Cameron County Court. Senior Judge Pamela Ruest sentenced her to four to eight years in prison. The Office of Attorney General prosecuted the charges filed by Pennsylvania State Police following the June 14, 2023, incident.

Attorney General Michelle Henry described the attack as a “brazen act of violence” involving an armed individual targeting an elected official. She commended Malizia for his resilience and dedication to his community despite the traumatic event.

On June 14, 2023, Mincy arrived at Malizia’s private practice office without an appointment, demanding action on a property transfer he had handled. When Mincy became belligerent, she shot Malizia in the leg and fled. Malizia was treated at an area hospital and released the same day.

The investigation revealed that Mincy’s actions were linked to a dispute over Malizia’s private law practice, not his role as district attorney.

Deputy Attorney General Philip McCarthy of the Criminal Prosecutions Section led the case.
