WYOMISSING, PA — From overnight burglar alarms and reckless driving complaints to alleged assaults and follow-up investigations tied to regional task force work, Wyomissing police handled a wide-ranging slate of incidents during the first weekend of February, according to departmental records.

The Wyomissing Police Department logged 39 separate incidents between February 1 and February 2, 2026, reflecting a steady operational tempo across residential neighborhoods, major roadways, and commercial corridors throughout the borough.

Police activity began just after midnight Sunday with multiple calls for service, including a burglar alarm activation along Hummingbird Road shortly after 12:30 a.m. Officers responded within minutes and determined the alarm had been accidentally triggered by the property owner. Similar alarm calls later occurred on Van Steffy Avenue, Reading Boulevard, and Squire Court, all of which were investigated and determined to be false or accidental activations.

Traffic-related incidents accounted for a substantial portion of the department’s workload. Officers responded to repeated reports of alleged reckless driving along Routes 222 and 422, as well as State Hill Road. In several cases, the vehicles described by callers were no longer in the area when police arrived, and no enforcement action was taken. Traffic stops throughout the weekend resulted in a mix of warnings and citations for alleged speeding, lighting violations, window tint issues, expired registrations, suspended licenses, and failure to maintain lane.

Late Sunday night, officers conducted a traffic stop on Penn Avenue that resulted in the alleged recovery of narcotics under Pennsylvania’s Act 64 forfeiture statute. The incident was marked for follow-up investigation.

Police also responded to a number of quality-of-life and public safety calls, including excessive noise complaints, suspicious activity reports, parking violations, and multiple 911 hang-up calls that were ultimately determined to involve no emergencies. Officers conducted welfare checks, assisted motorists with disabled vehicles, and documented non-reportable motor vehicle accidents in which no injuries were reported and information was exchanged between drivers.

Several incidents involved alleged interpersonal conflicts. On February 1, Wyomissing police assisted West Reading officers with an alleged domestic-related incident on Pine Street. The following day, officers assisted Cumru Township police with a reported roving domestic situation near Museum Road and Kenhorst Boulevard, where the involved parties were identified and released. In another incident on Berkshire Boulevard, officers responded to a reported physical altercation and gathered information for follow-up review.

Department records also reflect administrative activity connected to more serious investigations. On February 2, police logged a sex offense entry tied to an arrest previously made through a regional human trafficking task force operation conducted in mid-January. The log entry reflects processing and case tracking rather than a new incident occurring within Wyomissing on that date.

Additional calls included reports of missing or possibly stolen property, suspicious persons, animal-related incidents involving a loose dog that was safely returned to its home, and a found missing person case that was resolved without further action.

Police noted that blotter entries document initial calls for service and officer observations at the time of response. All incidents described remain allegations unless and until proven in court. As with all criminal matters, any suspect, arrestee, or defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
