Alleged Assault in Oxford Leads to Arrest of Coatesville Man

OXFORD, PA — On the evening of August 9, 2024, the Oxford Police Department responded to an incident involving an alleged assault in the 300 block of Market Street. Officers discovered a male victim with multiple facial injuries, appearing semi-conscious at the scene.

Leonardo Tejeda-Martinez, a 34-year-old resident of Coatesville, was identified as the alleged perpetrator. According to police reports, Tejeda-Martinez admitted to assaulting the victim following remarks made about his father. He was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Oxford Police Department for processing.

Following his arrest, Tejeda-Martinez was handed over to Constables for transfer to Chester County Prison. He was arraigned and released on a $20,000 bail, with a 10% cash requirement. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2024, at the Oxford District Court.

The charges filed include aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment. It is important to note that at this stage, these are allegations, and Tejeda-Martinez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
