Year-Old Burglary Probe Ends With Suspect’s Surrender

HUNTINGDON VALLEY, PA — A Montgomery County man has surrendered to police nearly a year after investigators linked him to a series of alleged break-ins at homes under construction in Lower Moreland Township.

According to the Lower Moreland Township Police Department, multiple homeowners reported burglaries during the week of June 22-28, 2025, at residences that were still under construction.

Police said detectives conducted an investigation that identified 28-year-old Mateo Ianelli as the suspect. Authorities subsequently obtained an arrest warrant, and Ianelli turned himself in to police on June 11.

Ianelli has been charged with burglary involving a building not adapted for overnight accommodations, conspiracy to commit burglary, criminal trespass, theft by unlawful taking, attempted theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and loitering and prowling at nighttime, according to police.

Court records were not immediately available to indicate whether Ianelli was held on bail or released following his surrender.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
