CHESTER, PA — Chester City Police are investigating an attempted homicide after a woman was shot in the face early Monday morning in the city’s East Side neighborhood, authorities said.
According to police, officers were dispatched at approximately 12:20 a.m. Monday to the 100 block of East 21st Street for a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 32-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound to the face, investigators said.
Police reported the victim was transported by VMSC medics to Christiana Hospital in Delaware, where she was listed in stable condition.
According to Chester City Police, the investigation remains in its early stages, and additional details have not yet been released.
Authorities are asking anyone with information, or anyone with camera footage from before, during, or after the incident, to contact Chester City Police at 610-447-8424.
Lead investigators identified in the case are Chester City Police Detective Marc Barag and CID Detective Ryan Stewart.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
