KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Kennett Square police reported charging a 55-year-old borough woman after she allegedly interfered with officers attempting to take another person into custody during an Aug. 22 incident.
Police identified the woman as Jacqueline Keita, 55, of Kennett Square.
According to police, officers were attempting to take a male subject into custody at approximately 6:14 p.m. in the 100 block of N. Willow Street when Keita allegedly interfered with the arrest process.
Police allege Keita’s actions hindered officers as they attempted to perform their duties.
Keita was charged with simple assault and obstructing law enforcement, according to police. Police listed her arrest date as Aug. 31.
Authorities reported that the case is awaiting a preliminary hearing for Keita and the other defendant involved.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
