WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington police reported arresting a 31-year-old woman Sunday morning after officers responding to a report of a person with a gun allegedly recovered a loaded handgun during a vehicle stop.
Police reported that members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2100 block of North Jefferson Street at approximately 9:16 a.m. Aug. 31 for a person-with-a-gun complaint.
Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop in connection with an alleged traffic violation, according to police.
Police identified the woman as 31-year-old Tanyjah Wright and reported that officers took her into custody without incident. Officers allegedly recovered a loaded 9 mm handgun.
Wright was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of an untraceable firearm, along with traffic citations, according to police.
Police reported that Wright was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and released after posting $1,500 secured bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
