NORTH COVENTRY TWP, PA — A Spring City woman faces misdemeanor charges after police responded to a reported retail theft in progress at a department store in North Coventry Township.
According to the North Coventry Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 3:06 p.m. on June 4 to Boscov’s, located on West Schuylkill Road, for a report of an active retail theft.
Police reported that upon arriving at the store, officers took 28-year-old Chelsea Hughes of Spring City into custody.
According to police, Hughes was charged with one count of retail theft and one count of receiving stolen property, both first-degree misdemeanor offenses.
Authorities did not release additional details regarding the allegations or the value of the merchandise involved.
Court proceedings related to the charges were not immediately available.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
