NORTH COVENTRY TWP, PA — A Philadelphia woman faces multiple retail theft charges after police investigating a reported shoplifting incident at a North Coventry Township grocery store allegedly linked her to additional thefts.
According to the North Coventry Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:18 p.m. on June 2 to Giant on Glocker Way for a report of retail theft.
During the investigation, police said officers identified several additional incidents that allegedly involved the same suspect.
According to police, 37-year-old Genefia Sherrene Powell of Philadelphia was subsequently identified and charged in connection with the investigation.
Police reported that Powell was charged with five counts of summary retail theft. Authorities did not release additional details regarding the alleged incidents or the value of the merchandise involved.
The charges were filed following the investigation, according to police. Court records regarding the case were not immediately available.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
