PHILADELPHIA, PA — Philadelphia police are seeking one man and have obtained an arrest warrant for another in connection with an alleged armed robbery on Sansom Street in Center City.
Police said the robbery occurred at approximately 2:23 a.m. Aug. 28 as a victim was walking east in the 1200 block of Sansom Street.
According to investigators, two masked men exited a dark gray Nissan Altima, with one allegedly carrying a handgun and the other an AR-15-style rifle.
Police allege the two forcibly took the victim’s jewelry and watch before fleeing in the Altima north on South 13th Street.
Investigators have identified one of the men as Shakur Nichols and obtained a warrant for his arrest, according to police.
Police described Nichols as approximately 6 feet tall and 170 pounds. During the alleged robbery, investigators said he was dressed in black, wore a black face mask, and was armed with an AR-15-style rifle.
The second man remains unidentified. Police described him as approximately 6 feet tall and 160 pounds, wearing black clothing, a black mask, and black-and-white New Balance sneakers. Investigators allege he was armed with a black handgun.
Police warned anyone who sees the wanted men not to approach them and to call 911 immediately.
