WILMINGTON, DE — Two men have been arrested following an investigation into a shooting that occurred on April 28 in Wilmington, leaving one man critically injured.
Police responded to the 700 block of East 10th Street at approximately 1:34 p.m. and located a 39-year-old male gunshot victim, later identified as Omar Brown. The victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
Through an investigation led by Detective Thomas Rittenhouse of the Criminal Investigations Division, 19-year-old Josiah Grimes was identified as a suspect along with Brown, who investigators allege was also involved in the incident.
Brown was taken into custody without incident on May 5, while Grimes was arrested on May 8 in the 1100 block of Lombard Street. Both men face a series of charges.
Brown has been charged with offenses including possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless endangering, and tampering with evidence. He was held on $38,000 cash-only bail.
Grimes is facing charges that include first-degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony. His bail was set at $502,100 cash-only.
Both men are being held at the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
