Tragedy Strikes Wilmington: Fatal Late-Night Shooting Claims One Life, Injures Another

WILMINGTON, DE — Wilmington Police have launched an investigation into a shooting that left one man dead and another injured late Thursday night.

The incident occurred on May 29, 2025, at approximately 11:06 p.m., in the 800 block of West 7th Street. Officers responding to the scene found a 56-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition but later died from his injuries.

A second victim, a 19-year-old male, was also discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Further details will be released as they become available.
