Traffic Stop Leads to Gun Charge in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man is facing a gun charge following a late-night traffic stop, police said.

According to Wilmington Police, officers with the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop at approximately 10:39 p.m. March 27, 2026, in the area of East 12th and Thatcher streets for a reported traffic violation.

Police reported that officers made contact with 32-year-old Antoine Demonia and took him into custody without incident.

According to investigators, officers allegedly recovered a loaded 9mm handgun during the stop.

Authorities said Demonia was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.

Police reported he was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $1,000 unsecured bail.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
