Man Accused of Fleeing Police, Wanted on Texas Felony Warrant

PARKESBURG, PA — A 28-year-old man is facing charges after police said he fled on foot during a traffic stop and was later found to be wanted on a felony warrant out of Texas.

According to Parkesburg Borough Police, officers conducted a lawful traffic stop March 19 in the 400 block of West First Avenue.

Police reported that the suspect, identified as Darian M. George, allegedly fled from officers on foot before being apprehended near the Parkesburg Train Station.

According to investigators, further checks revealed George was wanted in Texas on felony charges related to allegedly assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Authorities said George has been charged with flight to avoid apprehension and related offenses. Police reported that a preliminary hearing will be scheduled at District Court 15-3-07.

All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
