WILMINGTON, DE — A Wilmington man is facing a weapons charge after police said officers recovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop earlier this month.
According to Wilmington Police, members of the Uniformed Services Division conducted a vehicle stop at about 7:06 p.m. on June 21 in the area of East Fourth Street and Swedes Landing Road.
Police said officers made contact with Jalani Thomas, 24, and took him into custody without incident. During the investigation, officers allegedly recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
Thomas was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, according to police.
Court records show Thomas was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released after posting $2,500 secured bail.
All suspects, arrestees, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
